He became known throughout the western Highlands as a fearless cattle raider and smuggler who guided hunted clansmen through hidden mountain passes beneath moonlit storms. Armed with a weathered basket-hilt broadsword passed down through generations of MacLeods, Fergus fought not for glory, but for the memory of a Scotland slipping into legend. Tales spread from Inverness to the Isles of a grim Highland warrior who appeared like a ghost from the heather to strike tax collectors, free prisoners, and vanish again into the wild hills where the red deer roamed and the pipes still mourned for fallen kings.
